Boots Men’s 1st team win back to back promotions

Boots Men’s 1st Team left it to the last game of the season to secure back to back promotions.

After over a decade in the East Mids Prem league and promotion last year, they have stormed through the Midlands 2 division and will play next year in Midlands 1.

On the final day of the season they had to go to Stratford to play their rivals for promotion.

The home team had a large vociferous crowd of supporters but the Boots lads kept the calm, went into a 1: 0 lead half way through the first half and held onto that scoreline to the final whistle.

Promotion has been secured through an exciting, attacking style of play witnessed by a goal tally of 116 in 22 games. Captain Adam Innocent led the way scoring 31 goals and is in the top 3 of the league’s top scorers.

In the words of a justifiably proud skipper Adam said ‘Our fantastic success is the result of faultless effort and great commitment and support by all members of the squad’.

‘We’ll have a few beers to celebrate, enjoy some summer hockey and then get back to hard training ready for our assault on Mids 1.’
