Costello rings changes for final game of 2016

Nottingham Rugby Head Coach Ian Costello has made no fewer than five changes to his starting XV, for the Green and White’s Greene King IPA Championship trip to face Cornish Pirates at Mennaye Field, on New Year’s Eve (12:30pm kick-off).

Following Boxing Day’s 24-17 bonus-point home defeat to high-flying Yorkshire Carnegie, Prop Tom West, flanker Rob Langley and number eight Josh Poullet are all included in the pack, whilst dual-registered

Northampton Saints fly-half Sam Olver and Nottingham Trent University winger David Williams are both added amongst the backs.

Ben Morris will return to the role of captain, in the absence of Matt Everard, and will also move into the second row, to make way for Poullet being added to the back row.

On the bench, flanker Jordan Coghlan and centre Oli Evans both make welcome returns to the team, whilst last week’s hat-trick hero TJ Harris retains his place amongst the replacements.

Pirates came out on top in the league meeting between the two sides, at The Bay back in September. Tries from Nottingham’s TJ Harris, Ben Morris and Josh Poullet were not enough to keep out the visitors, who came away with a 35-19 victory.
