Nottingham girls were given the opportunity to learn more about what the future could hold at the fourth bi-annual Nottingham Girls’ High School career fair.

The fair was open to girls in years nine to 13 who attend the school, and other schools in the surrounding local area, and was held in their brand new performing arts centre, ‘the space’.

Representing the commercial property sector from Innes England was Jenny Clarke, a Nottingham Girls’ High School alumni, along with Kate Richardson and Laura Jardine.

Jenny, associate director at Innes England, said: “It was a pleasure to return to the Nottingham Girls’ High School as an ambassador for Innes England and the commercial property and surveying sector.

“It was great to speak with the girls and hopefully we demonstrated that commercial property is no longer a totally male dominated sector and there is room for women to be very successful. Innes England also has a high ratio of female surveyors and staff which is very encouraging for the industry.”

Julie Keller, head at Nottingham Girls’ High School, said: “We were delighted to welcome Innes England to our careers fair and hugely grateful for its involvement. It’s really important for us to encourage our girls into STEM based careers in which they are still sadly under-represented, and to promote the retention of skills and employment in the local area.

“As the leading commercial property consultants in the East Midlands, Innes England ticks a lot of boxes for us and it was great to seeing it represented at this key event in our calendar, providing our girls with valuable advice and encouragement for their future prospects.”
