Nottingham Rugby are pleased to announce that centre Oli Evans has penned a new one-year contract, committing himself to the club for the 2017/18 season.
The 27 year-old back signed for the Green & Whites from Jersey Reds in April 2016 and has impressed in his 20 league and cup appearances so far this season, scoring 4 tries.
Speaking about the importance of keeping Evans’ as part of the squad, both on and off the pitch, head coach Ian Costello said:
“Oli has been one of our most consistent performers this year and is in the top three in terms of game time. He’s been one of the best attacking players in the league and has really developed his all-round game, and has worked hard on some of the more subtle skills, to add to his strong carrying and offloading game. I think he’s a player who’s improving all the time and we’re going to see even more from next season.
“He also has an infectious personality and he’s really established himself as a big character within the group. In terms of atmosphere and mood in the camp, he’s a huge driver. It’s critical to have characters in your squad and we’re delighted to have him back on board.”
With Costello’s confirmed squad for next season now numbering 18, the final pieces of the jigsaw are now being finalised and put into place ready for the start of pre-season training in June.
However, more re-signings and new signings are still to be announced in the coming weeks, so please keep your eyes on the club’s website and social media for all the latest updates.
