Ken Clarke to stand in General Election

Conservative MP for Broxtowe Anna Soubry has confirmed that Ken Clarke, MP for Rushcliffe, will stand on June 8 in the general election. 

He had previously suggested that this would be his last Parliament.

His office told the Press Association: “He’s putting himself forward to be the Conservative candidate for Rushcliffe in June.”

Anna Soubry, the Conservative MP for Broxtowe, said Mr Clarke’s decision to stand was “excellent news”.
