Memories of West Bridgford: Lady Bay Lifting Bridge

  1. We lived on Mabel Grove and I walked to school over this bridge daily until 1954. I never saw it in use, as the canal width had been reduced with rubble by this stage.
    The picture is post 1950 I believe as I remember the house in the background being built around this time.
    The painting mentioned by Mr McCourt is of Lady Bay Bridge, approximately 1/2 mile nearer the Trent, which gave access to Trent Boulevard from Radcliffe Road.
