Nottingham submits its bid for European Capital of Culture 2023

In celebration of the day, a six feet high ‘2023’ was placed in front of the council house building in Old Market Square, members of the public were invited to draw self-portraits directly onto the giant digits to show their support for the bid – with the first 200 participants nabbing themselves a free DoughNott as a thank you.

A number of local artists were on hand to provide tips and tricks for drawing the perfect portrait, including Emily Catherine Illustration and Elliott Caine Design.
