Nottingham Corsairs RFC U10s have qualified to play in the final of the Prima Cup at Welford Road on the 15th April 2017.

The competition is open to entry for any U10 team in the country and Corsairs U10’s had to play firstly in a qualifying completion held at Mellish Rugby Club last October.

They topped their group and were then invited by Leicester Tigers to play at Welford Road in November.

The whole squad went to watch Tigers V Harlequins and after the final whistle played a Quarterfinal and then a Semifinal on the pitch – winning both games!

The other quarterfinalists came from as far afield as Suffolk, Chesire and Warwickshire.

The team has therefore been invited back by Tigers to play in the Cup Final at Welford Road before the Tigers v Newcastle game on 15th April. This competition has only been won once before by a team from Nottinghamshire – and that was also a Corsairs team – in 2008.

It is a major achievement for the team to reach the final and the whole squad have played their part.

Almost 60 parents and family members will be going to cheer the team on on the 15th!
