Nottingham Craft Beer Week is set to return for its third year and will take place from 19-25 June, with dozens of local bars and brewers lined up to take part in a series of events and activities celebrating the world of beautifully crafted beer.
This year Nottingham Craft Beer Week is all about bringing more people to visit Nottingham to see what an amazing thriving, independent scene we have here, based on diversity, creativity and co-operation.
Expect hotel discounts, spin-off events and activities for all during the week, all washed down with some amazing beers. Nottingham Craft Beer week will showcase the best up-and-coming craft breweries from around the world alongside our very own thriving local brewing scene.
NCBW Chair Nigel Garlick said: “Craft beer is wrongly viewed as a style of beer. For us we define it as those beers produced by independent brewers who prioritise passion and creativity of their craft over and above their profit margin.
This new renaissance of excitingly brewed beers and the craft beer industry are very much part of the lifestyle portfolio of the creative and independent thinker and Nottingham is a city full of these people; creating, brewing, retailing and consuming these beers.”
Over twenty venues have already signed up to take part this year including The Canalhouse, Junkyard, Brewdog, The Embankment, Brew Cavern, The Orange Tree, Purecraft, The Ned Ludd, Kraft Werks and The Bodega. Dozens more are set to be confirmed over the next few weeks. Expect lots of exciting beers and events from local brewers Castle Rock, Black Iris, Pica, and Totally Brewed as well as brewers from further afield.
Co-organiser Matt Hinton from Brew Cavern: “It’s been great to be part of NCBW for the last 3 years and watch it grow. It’s fitting that as the event gets bigger, so does the choice and variety of great craft beer in the city.
I feel that Nottingham Craft Beer Week has played a huge part in helping venues work with the best breweries, and put the city on the map as a destination for flavoursome beer. Long may this shift to quality, flavour and choice continue. Os from Kraft Werks and I will be hosting another Kraft Cavern Festival, which we are hoping will draw even more people into the city this year”
