Nottingham Murder: Crown Court date set as man remanded in custody

A man charged with murdering an 18-year-old in Mapperley has been remanded in custody after appearing in court today (Wednesday 19 April 2017).

Matthew Rothery died from stab wounds after police were called to an address in Woodborough Road at around 1am on Good Friday (14 April).

On Monday Nathan Towsey, 20, of Braunton Crescent, was charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on 24 May for a plea and directions hearing, with a provisional trial date of 16 October.
