As an indication of the growing franchise sector, particularly for women, Fraser Brown Solicitors has seen its largest attendance at its third regional Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) event which was held last week at the firm’s office on Friar Lane in Nottingham.
During the meeting, guests had the opportunity to hear guest speaker, Paul Thompson, who is the BFA (British Franchise Association) Franchisor of the Year and owner of national franchise Water Babies, which provide swimming lessons for babies and toddlers.
Fiona said: “EWIF’s primary focus is to support women who are looking for a route into the franchise industry and it was important to me, as head of franchising at Fraser Brown, to set up a Midlands group to support the local region.
“It’s fantastic that the group continues to grow which is down to word of mouth, and, the national statistics that show that the franchising sector is growing at a rapid pace and a large proportion of those going into franchising are women.
“We welcomed a broad spectrum of attendees to the meeting from businesses considering franchising, businesses that have recently started franchising and established franchisors in the UK and even worldwide.
“The guest speaker gave valuable insight into the growth of what was a kitchen table franchise to a global enterprise and how franchising can be a significant route to building a substantial global business.”
EWIF’s remit is threefold; to encourage women to consider buying a franchise, to encourage business women to franchise their existing operations and to help franchisors attract more women to their networks. It is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers, providing advice and guidance to anyone looking at trying to break into the franchise industry.
The next EWIF Midlands event will be held on the 4 July at Friar Lane, at 9.30am for 10am start and will close at 12pm. To register your attendance please contact email@example.com
