On Tuesday 5th September, her and her fellow competitors spent hours perfecting their creations to show off on the catwalk in front of 800 guests at a glittering evening held at the RoundHouse in London.  Working with her model, Fiona Manneh, Mary impressed the judges who had asked for a look with an ‘individual vision of beautiful, wearable and inspiring salon-relevant hair’.

Mary (28) who lives near the City centre, said: “I couldn’t believe it when they announced my name. I’m absolutely over the moon.  I went to the ceremony as a spectator last year and was blown away by the talent of the finalists so, to be up there with them, was a dream come true. I’m so proud the judges understood my vision and recognised my creativity in this way.”

Salon directors, Debbie and Sean McMenamin and their team were there on the night to cheer Mary on.  “We are so proud of Mary and delighted she has been honoured in this way. ” said Debbie. “Mary is so talented and focused on her work and her attention to detail is quite remarkable.  It’s brilliant news for our hard-working team too who have been right behind her and supporting her to live her dream. However, it was her sheer drive, talent and vision that shone through on the night and so impressed the judges. She so deserves this success.”

As well as receiving a trophy on the night, Mary will also benefit from a programme of mentoring from some of the industry’s top icons and the support of a Wella tailor-made development programme.

Darren Messias and Tim Fee, Managing Directors at KH Hair Group, said: “We are absolutely over the moon for Mary and KH Hair as a business.  This is the first time we’ve made it to the top three and we’re just thrilled!  The standard is extremely high so we are very proud that Mary has been recognised as one of the very best colour experts in the whole of the UK. Well done Mary!”
