Have you been offered these war medals?

Police are appealing for information after a war medals were stolen in a Nottingham garage break-in.

A full set of First World War service medals and an Irish Emergency Civil Defence Medal (as shown in the photo) were taken in the burglary in Castle Boulevard, between 1 November 2016 and 3 January 2017. The name on inscription is Sergeant Edward Egan (or similar), Leinster Regiment.

The medals are not believed to have any real financial value but have great sentimental significance to the victim.

Anyone who has seen the medals or has been offered them is being urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 216 of 3 January 2017.

  1. No financial value? An NCO in a rare regiment including a Meritorious Service Medal in a set of 5. If I was selling those on eBay I would put on a starting bid of £300 and expect to get at least £500.
