Pictures: Can you imagine a school prom with only 11 in the year group?

Hollygirt School is a small school near the city centre of Nottingham for girls and boys aged 3 to 16.

Pupils from Year 11 have recently enjoyed their Leavers’ Prom. It seems to be the norm now for schools to have a big American-style prom with limos, fancy attire and a big party. Hollygirt School wasn’t going to let the fact they only have 11 pupils in Year 11 stop them from having a knockout event!

They enjoyed a sit down three-course dinner at Bestwood Lodge Hotel followed by a disco where pupils and teachers alike danced the night away.

Headmistress, Mrs Pamela Hutley, who attended the evening, said: “They may be a small cohort but they certainly know how to look fabulous and to have a good time.”

The young adults are now looking forward to receiving their GCSE results on Thursday 24th August and furthering their education at a range of establishments across Nottinghamshire. We are sure they will miss the tree-green uniform, though!
