Tollerton: Warning after bogus roof and drainage callers reported to request access to homes

Police are asking for information after two men are reported to have been door knocking in Tollerton suggesting that work needs to be done on properties.

‘Two males attended an address stating that they were working at a neighbouring address and needed access to install a pipe to assist with drainage in the area. Whilst at the address the males stated that there were loose roof tiles on the occupants property and offered to fix them.

There was no issue with the roof nor were they working on a neighbours property.

The males were in a white van with ladders on the roof. (no further details)

Male 1 was described as Middle aged with a heavy build wearing and orange/red coat.
Male 2 was described as in his early 30s, slimmer build than male 1, wearing a baseball cap.

Never accept work from door step callers and if you do require work to your property always go to a reputable firm and ask for a quote.’
