West Bridgford Holy Spirit Celtic U7s play their first match

West Bridgford side, Holy Spirit Celtic Under 7’s have played their first ever competitive matches in the Young Elizabethan League.

Based at the Becket School, the club was established in 2006 and now has over 150 children at all age groups playing sport in a fun and safe environment under the supervision of qualified FA Coaches.

Coach Chris Rooney said: “This is such an exciting time for the children. Win, lose or draw, the emphasis is on the children having a great time and building up their confidence for the challenges life will throw at them”.

To celebrate their debut, the children were lucky enough at the weekend to be invited down the Meadow Lane to watch the Magpies beat Lincoln City 4-1. Chris said, “As a community club, it was really kind of Notts County to invite us over the Trent and give the children the chance to watch our local professionals plying their trade.”
