Head Coach Gareth Kerr (who joined the club from National 2 club South Leicester last season), along with our new forwards coach – James Penman – also a new signing for Nottingham Rugby & Calum Gunn (returning this season to his home club from National 2 club, South Leicester) as skills coach, have been really impressed with all the players and colts through the first 5 weeks of pre-season training. An average senior attendance of 42 is exceptional given it is traditional holiday period too.

Club director, Ian Marriott commented “It’s very exciting to see some new faces join the club and to see the return of so many players returning from long term injury. There is a real buzz around the club and we are all looking forward to a great season in a very competitive league. The Club’s mission statement is to give all players and members the best coaching and facilities, on and off the playing enclosure”.

Last Thursday evening, saw the second inter club training game take place and we were grateful to Rob Teare, an ex-player and now refereeing in the national leagues, to take charge of the game and gave very positive feedback.

It was a great opportunity to watch some of the new signings take the field – Calum Gunn (National 2), Ian Knott (National 3), Luke Brown (National 3), James Phillips (Midland 1) & Joshua Shaw. Returning players – Ashley Watts, Henry Henson, Ben Berridge, Jared Kelly, Joe Wade & Daniel Graney. Within the already strong squad, we are proud of our three young Nottingham Academy players, namely – Jake Hicklin, Natty Brisco and George Harris.
