A win for Nottingham Rowing Club

The club entered two women’s double sculls in the Pairs Head on Saturday taking place on the Tideway in London.

Annie Campbell-Orde and Kate Parsons finished 5th in the Women’s championship category. The junior girls, Bella Barlow and Jenna Draycott also finished 5th in the Women’s junior 18 category. The club head coach Dez Atkins was pleased with the performance of both crews.

Meanwhile the less experienced section of the club went to Burton head and the men’s quad of George Blythe, Elliot Marples, Matt Nicholls and Pete Willis won the open quadruple sculls beating Keele University by 1 second.

Elliot was a substitute for Charlie Hargreaves who was poorly.  Heather Wesson also won in women’s single sculls Band 3. The women’s coxed four lost to Derwent but it was very close. The squad thoroughly enjoyed their day out as for a lot of them it was their first experience of racing.
