SIX Word War II mortar bombs found in Rushcliffe village

The items, believed to be mortar bombs from Second World War, were uncovered by a building company in land off the A60 at around 12.30pm today (Thursday 7 December 2017).

Officers attended along with the bomb disposal unit to make sure the area was safe and the devices were safely removed.

It’s thought that the six bombs, which were 15ins long, were filled with sand and would’ve been used in training.
