Funding of £1.4 million is part of the Government’s Rural mobility fund to trial on-demand bus services in rural or suburban areas.
Additional funding was provided to local authorities to support them with the development of their business cases and will be made available to deliver programme-wide monitoring and evaluation.
As part of the better deal for bus users, local authorities will receive additional funding to improve current services and restore lost services where most needed.

English local authorities were invited to bid for funding to trial on-demand bus services in rural or suburban areas.
The rural mobility fund competition took applications between 30 April 2020 and 4 June 2020.
The 17 successful mobility fund applications and their bid values have been announced.
