100 classic cars will line up at Holme Pierrepont Hall – tomorrow Sunday 11 July

A quirky interest in cars sparked the idea for a fun new event due to take place at Holme
Pierrepont Hall on Sunday 11 July.

Families, car and motorbike enthusiasts are set to enjoy a fun car show in the hall parkland on Sunday 11th July – 11am to 4pm

Local business owner, Rob Elliott first came up with the idea of organising a ‘cool, classic and quirky’ car show when chatting with Robert Brackenbury, the 19th generation owner of the hall during the last lockdown.

Rob’s love of quirky cars goes back years and he is perhaps best known for serving coffee from a converted horse trailer, Land Rover Defender and Citroën AK400 van, in West Bridgford and the surrounding villages.

Rob said: “In the last lockdown, Robert and I were chatting about how fantastic it would be to use the stunning setting of the Hall to showcase some of the hidden gems which have been sat in peoples’ garages for the best part of 15 months.

“Having restored and converted a range of vehicles myself, I know how passionate people are about their cars, particularly if they have completed a lotof the work themselves. Many of the exhibitors who will be showing their vehicles have owned them for a long time and have interesting stories about how they came to own or restore their projects.”

He went on to say, “It will be fantastic to see both car enthusiasts and families taking time to enjoy seeing these beautiful machines.”

Robert Brackenbury, the owner of the hall looks forward to the event too.

He said: “After months of everyone having to stay at home, Charlotte and I are really looking forward to opening up our gardens and parkland for everyone to enjoy a fun day out. We look forward to welcoming friends and families who perhaps want to bring a picnic and enjoy the display. Now our fingers are crossed in the hope that we may get some good weather to make the day really special.”
