Update: 100 firefighters tackle major fire in Nottingham

Firefighters from stations across the county are at the scene. 

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said tonight:

‘Over 100 firefighters continue to tackle a significant metal fire on Harrimans Lane, Dunkirk.

Please stay out of the area and be aware of a large number of vehicles travelling to the incident.

If you live nearby, keep your windows and doors closed.

‘Two aerial ladder platforms, a high volume pump, and welfare unit are also in attendance. Due to large quantities of smoke and strong winds, please avoid the area and keep windows and doors closed.’

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 7:30 pm:

‘We are currently in attendance at an ongoing fire on Harrimans Ln, Dunkirk.

Currently in attendance are crews from West Bridgford, Highfields, London Road, Stockhill, Stapleford, Long Eaton, Carlton, Arnold, Ascot Drive, and Ilkeston.
