Police arrested the rider of the bike who was the child’s father.
A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Roads Policing Unit said:
‘The adult rider of this quad bike decided he would blend in with the traffic in Worksop by having his 11-year-old child hang onto the handlebars as he rode it around the towns roads.
‘The quad was stopped after the driver ran out of petrol.
‘The quad was an outstanding stolen vehicle.

‘The driver of the quad has been reported for a lot of offences and the stolen quad bike has been recovered. The 11 year old is thankfully fine.’
