120 hours unpaid work for headbutt attacker

A man, who was captured on CCTV pushing and headbutting man at a Newark pub, has been given a community service order.

Liam James Townhill of Heysham Close in Lincoln was sentenced yesterday at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court (Monday 17 July 2017) having admitted the assault which took place at the Muskham Ferry pub on Saturday 17 June 2017.

The 47-year-old will have to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work and has been ordered to pay £100 in compensation, £85 surcharge and £85 prosecution fees. He has also been issued with an exclusion order banning him from the pub for two years.

Townhill was arrested and charged following a media appeal. Officers have thanked the public for their help in identifying him.
