Police officers have been enforcing the no right turn at the bottom of Platt Lane, junction with A606 Melton Road.

Police said:

‘Despite numerous warnings and signs drivers are ignoring the no right turn and turning right.

‘The no right turn is there to ensure the road works in the village cause as little disruption as possible.

‘These drivers were stopped and reported for the offence and will be receiving a fixed penalty for the offence.

‘Should you wish to turn right, please use Browns Lane, the no-right-turn is to ensure the traffic flows as well as possible given the roadworks and allows the buses to continue to operate in the village.

‘We will continue to monitor the junction, using marked and unmarked vehicles so please do not ignore the signs and turn right.’
