Four teenagers have been arrested after a young cyclist was threatened and had his bike stolen.
The 14-year-old victim was targeted in Brookside Avenue, Mansfield Woodhouse, as he cycled home from school at around 3.50pm on Wednesday (2 November 2022).
A group of youths knocked him off the bike and threatened him with violence.
Officers on patrol arrived at the scene quickly and tracked down four suspects close by in Charles Street. They also recovered the bicycle.
Three boys, aged 14, 15 and 17, as well as an 18-year-old man, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.
Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This must have been a very frightening experience for the victim who was targeted as he made his way home from school.
“Thanks to some quick work from response officers we located these suspects and will now be carrying out further inquiries and studying CCTV of the incident.
“Theft of bicycles is something we take very seriously as we know the loss of a bike can impact the victim both financially and emotionally due to being a victim of crime.
“We will always do our utmost to catch offenders and reunite people with their property – so it is particularly pleasing to have reunited the victim with his bike.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 437 of 2 November 2022.
