16-year-olds arrested after fight with blades outside ASDA store in Nottinghamshire

Police have arrested two teenagers as investigations continue into reports of a fight involving bladed weapons outside a supermarket.

Officers were called to the Asda in Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at around 11.57pm on Friday 13 March.

Two injured victims attended hospital for treatment. A 17-year-old boy sustained a slash wound to his arm and a 24-year-old man suffered an injury to his elbow.

A third victim, a 23-year-old man, has since been located. He suffered an injury to his arm.
The victims, whose injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening, are being supported.

Following inquiries into the incident, police arrested two 16-year-old boys this morning (Sunday 15 March) on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. They remain in custody.

Detective Sergeant Adam Penn, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“We do not tolerate violence or those who think it is acceptable to carry or use weapons.
“Following these arrests we continue to investigate this incident and efforts are ongoing to trace other people believed to have been involved.

“If anyone has information about those involved who has not yet spoken with us, please call 101 quoting incident 868 of 13 March, or speak with Crimestoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.”
