Police have arrested two suspects following an attempted robbery in Nottingham.
A 20-year-old was approached by three men as he entered the foyer of student accommodation in Belward Street, Nottingham city centre.
He was then grabbed and punched several times as his attackers tried to steal his iPad.
The victim managed to keep hold of the device and the three men left empty handed.
Police were called following the incident at 2.10am on Monday (15 January).
Two suspects, aged 17 and 24, were located nearby and arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery. They remain in custody.
Inquiries to trace a third suspect are continuing.
Detective Sergeant Alan Prentice, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Swift action has led to two arrests and we are now examining CCTV and speaking to two suspects.
“Robbery is a serious offence and one that Nottinghamshire Police treats as such.
“We have a dedicated robbery team whose sole focus is dealing with robberies and who have helped drive down offending of this nature in Nottinghamshire.
“I would ask anyone who witnessed this incident to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 29 of 15 January 2024.”
