Channel 4’s award-winning fly-on-the-wall documentary series, 24 Hours in A&E, is set to return to our TV screens for a new series from Thursday, 13 February, at 9 pm.
The latest series returns to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust’s (NUH) Queen’s Medical Centre (QMC) – a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every single day.
The series follows the stories of staff and patients in one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain, with cameras filming around the clock to give viewers an insight into what life is really like inside our hospitals.
The episodes will be broadcast on Channel 4 throughout February, March, and April.

A&E is a vital department where our most vulnerable patients are seen at the time they need us most. It has been challenging across the country and the Trust over winter. We have seen staff work tirelessly and have tried to ensure we remain flexible so that we are there for our patients when they need us the most.
“Being the home of this programme means a lot to us; it gives us the chance to show what it is really like working in a hospital like Queen’s Medical Centre. We know how dedicated and skilled our staff are, and it’s great that everyone else gets to see that too. I’m looking forward to tuning in to the first episode with the rest of the country on Thursday, 13 February.”
The first episode follows 37-year-old Ronalds, who is rushed to QMC after slicing through his ankle with an angle grinder. Doctors make a shocking discovery after 50-year-old Jeremy crashes his mountain bike. Meanwhile, 21-year-old Owen has dislocated his shoulder at a music festival.
During September and October 2021, NUH welcomed cameras into the Emergency Department (ED) at QMC for the first series to be filmed outside London. Cameras returned to QMC in May 2023 to film another series.
A total of 24 programmes were recorded; 17 episodes have already been broadcast.
24 Hours in A&E, which is made by The Garden, part of ITV Studios, has become one of the most popular documentary series on Channel 4, having aired more than 300 episodes.
