Celebrity guest Jean-Chrisophe Novelli is now no longer appearing at the celebration of food on Saturday 13 July, due to taking up filming in aid of a cancer charity.

Mr Novelli sent his apologies to fans who were set to visit him at the event, but explained that a cause close to his family’s heart had approached him for the project which he hopes will help to raise millions of pounds.

Food lovers can still expect to find a myriad of delicious delights at the festival this weekend, from locally produced cheese and preserves, to pastries, pies and a selection of wines from local vineyards, in association with Elvin Moore Solicitors.

Multi-award-winning food, lifestyle and parenting writer Emily Leary will also host a cookery demonstration from midday for anyone keen learn how to craft delicious, healthy meals at home.

Further great cookery demonstrations, more masterclasses and children’s activities of a cookery school and food science lab are taking place throughout the day, allowing

everyone to attempt biscuit making, jelly explosions, healthy pizza creations and rocket building.

Rushcliffe Borough Council’s Deputy Leader Cllr Debbie Mason said: “This year’s food festival is set to be as vibrant and exciting as ever, with plenty of activities and entertainment for shoppers, visitors and families alike.

“We look forward to celebrating some of our local businesses as they showcase delicious treats and welcome food lovers to this wonderful event which highlights our great lifestyle here in Rushcliffe.”

The YouNG Summer Market will also coincide with the food festival and feature young entrepreneurs and performers from across the Borough.

It will include youth-based enterprise including handmade crafts, summer decorations, iced coffee outlet, seaside-style photo board, spin the wheel game and a host of young musicians entertaining the crowds.
