400 new homes get green light in Nottinghamshire town

The 40-acre site, known as Stonebridge Fields, will become the latest development in the region belonging to the leading homebuilders, accommodating a selection of two to five bedroom homes on Stonebridge Lane.

Planning permission has been secured for 400 properties as part of a brand new housing development by developers Barratt and David Wilson Homes in Market Warsop.

Of the new homes to be available at the development, 248 properties will be constructed by David Wilson Homes East Midlands, whilst 152 of the homes will be built and provided by Barratt Homes North Midlands.

As part of the planning agreement for the new development, the developers are injecting more than £1.2 million into local community facilities and infrastructure.

Contributions of more than £560,000 will go towards local primary school improvements, over £215,000 to healthcare, £368,000 towards the maintenance of open space, and an additional £55,000 to public open space improvements at Carr Lane Park.

Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “Being given the green light to begin work on this exciting development moves us closer to delivering more properties to eager homebuyers in the Nottinghamshire area.

“Whilst we are looking forward to beginning the build, our focus is now on processing the finer details and presenting our plans for the site to local homebuyers. This work will supply another boost to the region and provide a new and exciting opportunity to those looking to take the next step on the property ladder.”

John Reddington, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We are very much looking forward to providing a special development which has been meticulously designed by our expert team to meet the needs of local homebuyers.

“At David Wilson Homes, we pride ourselves on our placemaking values, and strive to create developments which residents can feel proud to call home, amongst communities that promote happiness, health and well-being.”

Hedgehog highways and homes, swift bricks, bird boxes, bat boxes and insect habitats are to be implemented across the site to assist Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ environmental efforts.

As a resident in Market Warsop, homebuyers will be a short distance away from Sherwood Forest, as well as The Carrs public park, which features two ponds with wildlife, a children’s play area, and a leisure area.

The town offers a range of facilities including a primary school and nursery, shops, pubs, cafes and a church. All desired amenities can be found in the town.
