60 more holiday lodges planned near Clumber Park

Plans have been unveiled for 60 holiday lodges next to Clumber Park.

The homes would be an extension of the Clumber Park Lodges, which is run by Away Resorts.

The application says it would allow more people to enjoy the area’s natural beauty and would give “direct access to bike trails, footpaths and links to countryside, lakes and woodland walks”.

The site is a paddock to the west of the existing holiday park, which is accessed off B6034 Ollerton Road, around three miles south of Worksop.

The site is also bounded by Clumber Park, a Grade I-listed country park run by the National Trust, and Worksop golf course.

Planning documents say “the affect of the development on landscape character and features would be confined to the site”.

It adds: “The proposed development has been designed to accommodate vehicles within the application site while also promoting safe walking routes within the holiday park boundaries by provision of pathways.”

There would be 31 single unit lodges and 29 doubles, with a total of 89 parking spaces provided.

Artists impressions submitted with the scheme show four rows of lodges, with a stream running through the site.

The original holiday site opened in 2019 with 76 lodges, and has a café, bar, shop and bike hire centre.

Planning documents estimate that the development would create 15 full-time and 60 part-time jobs.

A similar application for 50 new lodges was submitted in 2021, but was later withdrawn.

The new plans have been submitted to Bassetlaw District Council, and will be determined at a later date.
