Crews are still at the scene of a huge recycling centre fire in Elkesley in Nottinghamshire.
Updates below provided by Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service throughout the evening of Thursday 21 August. Crews from Retford, Tuxford, Worksop, Edwinstowe, Warsop, Mansfield, Stapleford, Ashfield, Blidworth and Harworth stations attended the incident plus back up and welfare crews and equipment.

‘Crews continue to tackle the fire on Jockey Lane Elkesley and will be there overnight.

‘8 Fire engines, 2 water carriers, aerial ladder platform, command unit and welfare unit have been mobilised to the incident on Jockey Lane in Elkesley, approximately 80 firefighters.
‘Jockey lane is currently closed in both direction, and we have had reports of drivers stopping on the A1 to observe the incident.
‘This is dangerous and could potentially block the route for emergency service, please avoid the area and allow us to resolve the incident as quickly as possible.
‘We are likely to be in attendance for a number of hours.
‘Keep doors and windows closed if affected by the smoke.
