Cllr Gordon Wheeler connected Streetwise with famous local former Bevin Boy Harry Parkes to help assist a safe VE Day.
The team have now tidied a grass area and hedges on a road in Cllr Wheeler’s ward that will see 93-year-old Harry lead a safe sing-a-long with fellow residents on Stonesby Vale in Compton Acres.
Mr Parkes campaigned for a memorial to conscripts who worked in coal mines during World War Two and was awarded with the British Empire Medal for his efforts.
At 12pm on Friday 8th May the residents in his close sung songs from their respective front gardens and Harry asked to pass on his thanks to Streetwise team for helping make the celebration extra special.
