West Bridgford design business launches virtual art group

West Bridgford business Helena Tyce Designs has created a virtual art group to help people through the lockdown.

The poster ( pictured ) is one that the Virtual Art Group have created this week.

Owner Helena Tyce told us:

‘My business is all but closed at the moment (I have a shop in Sneinton Market where I sell cards and gifts) so I have set up a free art group to help people through.’

‘Every week during lockdown I set a project. This week I charged everyone with creating a keyworker character and ended up with nearly 100! So I’ve made them into a big, colourful thank you poster.

‘The group have agreed that it can be shared as widely as possible – anything to bring thanks and cheer to NHS staff and keyworkers at this time. It’s being stuck in windows, on wheelie bins, shared on social media and made into cards to send to beloved friends and family.

‘The group are so proud. We have lots of anxious people who are benefitting from the distraction the group is providing and it’s also helping people to build their confidence. I have one group member who hasn’t picked up a pencil since he lost hi eyesight and he’s posting art every week. So inspirational!’
