Fire crews received a call at 5:39 am today 24 July.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘We currently have eight appliances in attendance at a fire in the Hyson Green area following a call at 5:39AM.’
‘Noel Street is currently closed, and it has suspended trams from Wilkinson Street and The Forest. Please stay away from the area whilst we deal with the incident.’
In an update at around 9 am the service said:
‘We want to thank the Firefighters for working hard to extinguish the fire as quickly as they did, and thank all of our partners for the ongoing support throughout the morning.’
‘We are working with the local authorities to set up a rest centre for any residents that may need it. A Fire Investigation will commence later today.’
Nottinghamshire Police, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue and East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the incident.
