After record-breaking A Level results last week, students at Nottingham University Academy of Science and Technology (NUAST), part of Nova Education Trust, are now celebrating superb GCSE achievements.
Students have excelled across all subjects, with even more young people than ever achieving the very top grades than last year.
This year, 76% of NUAST students achieved at least a standard pass in both Maths and English, while nearly a quarter secured a Grade 7 or higher in both subjects.
NUAST is particularly proud that this year’s results show the school’s curriculum is supporting all students regardless of their starting points and background. Importantly, students from disadvantaged backgrounds outperformed their peers nationally, reflecting NUAST’s strong focus on equity and ambition for all learners.
Dave Thompson, Head Teacher at NUAST, said:
“We are incredibly proud of the amazing results our students have achieved this year. Their hard work, resilience and commitment have paid off, and these results are a real testament to both our students and the dedication of our staff. We are pleased to be welcoming so many of our students back to study in our NUAST16 provision. However, whether they continue their studies here at NUAST or pursue opportunities elsewhere, we know they will go on to achieve great things and make a real difference in the world.”
