Mr Tetley’s loved ones have released a tribute to him through the family liaison officers who have been supporting them.

It reads:

“Phil was a much-loved husband, son and father to four and stepfather to three. He was the kindest and most thoughtful man and friend to many.”

Detective Sergeant Jo Eaton, of the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“Our thoughts are with Mr Tetley’s family, friends and loved ones following this tragic incident.

“His family have now asked for privacy at this extremely difficult time and specially trained officers will continue to support them.

“I’m grateful to those members of the public who assisted at the scene and have provided information to support our investigation.”
