Strong winds are expected across the East Midlands on Thursday as an active weather front moves south-eastwards across the UK.
Gusts of 50 to 55 mph are likely to develop widely, with some exposed and coastal areas, along with locations downwind of higher ground, potentially seeing gusts of 60 mph and locally up to 70 mph in a few places.
The strongest winds are expected during the morning and early part of the day, before gradually easing from the north as the front moves away later on Thursday.
The Met Office issued this warning today and it’s in force from 5 am until 8 pm on Thursday 12 March.
