Two trapped after car overturns on A52 Clifton Bridge

Two people had to be rescued after becoming trapped inside a car following a two-vehicle crash on a major Nottingham route.

Emergency services were called to the A52 Clifton Bridge on Clifton Boulevard at 8.43am on Tuesday, March 18, after reports of a collision.

When officers arrived, Nottinghamshire Police said one of the vehicles had overturned and was lying on its roof.

Despite the severity of the incident, no injuries were reported. The road was closed for several hours while recovery work and enquiries were carried out.

Clifton Bridge reopened at around 12pm.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews from West Bridgford and Highfields stations attended the scene, where two people were reported trapped in one of the vehicles.

Nottingham City Transport (NCT) said its Navy South Notts 1 service was diverted during the closure.
