An investigation is underway after a delivery driver was injured during the theft of his van in Bulwell.
The incident happened in Cantrell Road, Bulwell, around 12.15pm on Saturday (18 April).
A driver was in the process of delivering a package to an address when someone climbed into his van.
When the individual then started to drive away, the man rushed back and managed to cling on to the vehicle.
At that point, the man in the driving seat sped up and swerved across the road, while the van’s owner held on.
Having been dragged behind the van for several seconds, the man fell onto the road – injuring his knees in the process.
The vehicle was found abandoned in Bestwood soon after the offence, although the owner’s phone was nowhere to be seen.
Police have been investigating the incident ever since and can now release an image of a man they’d like to speak to as part of their inquiries.

PC Adam Spencer, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a very dangerous incident that thankfully didn’t result in the van’s owner being seriously injured.
“The victim was dragged behind the van for several seconds after someone stole their delivery van and drove away at speed.
“While we were quickly able to recover the stolen vehicle, we’re still in the process of trying to locate the person behind the theft.
“On that note, we can now release an image of a man we’d like to speak to as part of our investigation.
“Our understanding is that he could have information that could assist our inquiries, so we’d ask him to please make himself known to us.
“Likewise, we’d urge anyone who recognises him to report this information to the police as soon as possible.”
The police can be contacted directly on 101, quoting incident 281 of 18 April 2026, while Crimestoppers can also be called anonymously on 0800 555 111.
