West Bridgford police release image after fake bank notes used

Police in West Bridgford have launched an appeal following the use of fraudulent bank notes.

The victim sold a games console on Facebook for £280. She then received the payment in cash on 27 February in Foxfield Way.

The notes were taken to a bank where it was confirmed they were fraudulent.

Sergeant James Robinson said:

‘We have been analysing CCTV footage since the incident occurred and believe the person in this image may have vital information.’

“With a recent rise in reports of counterfeit notes in circulation in Nottinghamshire, we are urging those who deal in cash to be extra vigilant.

“We believe the man in this image will be able to assist the investigation and I would encourage him to come forward.

“Likewise, I would appeal for anyone who recognises him to call 101 quoting occurrence number 26*254552.

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
