Pierrepont Gamston Church of England Primary School is celebrating a highly positive SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) report, with inspectors praising both its inclusive ethos and inspiring approach to learning.
The report found that the school is “living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish”, highlighting the strength of its vision: “Aiming high, caring for all.”
At the heart of this success is a deeply embedded commitment to inclusion. Pierrepont Gamston is a highly diverse Church school, where children of all faiths and none are welcomed, supported, and encouraged to become the very best version of themselves. Inspectors recognised that this approach ensures every pupil is valued as an individual and given the opportunity to thrive.
The curriculum was singled out as a key strength, with inspectors noting that “the Christian vision shapes a curriculum rooted in ‘love’, where pupils ‘love to learn and learn to love’.” This approach allows children to “flourish academically, socially and spiritually”, placing equal importance on academic success and personal development.
Learning at the school is designed to inspire curiosity and imagination. The report highlights how teaching goes beyond knowledge acquisition, with creative approaches that capture pupils’ imaginations. As a result, “pupils are experiencing greater wonder, becoming more reflective about what they learn.”
Religious Education (RE) is another standout area. Inspectors found it to be “expertly led and carefully designed to be broad and challenging”, noting that “lessons spark wonder and enable pupils to think deeply about religion and belief.” Pupils are encouraged to explore different perspectives while developing respect and understanding for others.
The school’s strong sense of community was also praised. Inspectors observed that “the school’s Christian vision and values create a shared sense of purpose, enabling the community to flourish together.” Relationships across the school are described as supportive and nurturing, reflecting the value of radiating love in everyday interactions.
The vision of “caring for all” is evident throughout school life, creating “loving relationships across the school and beyond.” Pupils are encouraged to support one another and actively contribute to charitable initiatives, helping them develop compassion and a sense of responsibility.
Staff and leaders have welcomed the report, which reflects the dedication of the entire school community to creating an environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired.
Looking ahead, the school has confirmed that places are available for September, giving families the opportunity to join a diverse and inclusive community where children truly “love to learn and learn to love each and every day.”
