Further arrest after teenager stabbed ‘several times’ in Sneinton incident

A further suspect has now been arrested for attempted murder following a stabbing last week in Sneinton.

Multiple people were reportedly responsible for a 16-year-old boy suffering stab wounds in Carlton Road, near to King Edward Park.

The attack happened last Friday (26 June) around 7.20pm and left the teenage victim with potentially life-altering injuries as a result.

Detectives have been investigating the assault since then and initially made four arrests – three for attempted murder – last Saturday (29 June) morning.

These inquiries have continued throughout this week, however, with a further suspect identified, circulated force-wide and spotted in St Ann’s around 8pm yesterday (2 July).

That’s when City South neighbourhood policing team officers saw an individual matching the description of the person police were looking for, before chasing after and detaining him.

The 15-year-old boy was subsequently arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody at this time.

Three 16-year-old boys previously arrested for attempted murder and a 14-year-old girl arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have all been released on bail with strict conditions.

Detective Inspector Ian Smith, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This was a shocking assault that left a teenager with multiple stab wounds and injuries that could potentially impact him for the rest of his life.

“Our officers have continued to conduct inquiries throughout this week and have now managed to arrest a fourth person on suspicion of attempted murder.

“While we completely appreciate any incident involving knives will cause concern within the communities where they happen, we hope news of this further arrest will provide people with some reassurance.

“Inquiries are still very much ongoing into this assault, so we’d ask anyone who has any information about what happened, but hasn’t shared it yet, to please do so.

“As well as any witnesses, we want to hear from anyone who may have captured dash-cam, CCTV, doorbell, or mobile phone footage of the incident.”

This can be shared directly to the police by calling 101, quoting incident 749 of 26 June 2026, while Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
