A 16-year-old has died after a motorcycle collision in Collingham

A teenager has died after a motorcycle crash in Collingham.

Emergency services were called to Besthorpe Road in the village, near Newark, around 11.25am on Saturday (29 March) following reports a rider had come off his bike.

A sixteen-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He sadly died on Sunday.

No other vehicles were involved but officers still want to speak to anyone with any information or relevant dashcam footage.

Detective Constable Liah Lane, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“This was a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the teenager’s family and friends at an extremely distressing time.

“Family members are being supported by specially trained officers.

“We believe a number of passing motorists could be able to help with our inquiries into this incident and I’d urge them to come forward without delay.”
