East Midlands Railway announced the sad news at 9:49 am on Monday 30 September.
A spokesperson said:
‘We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train.
‘This happened between Bedford and Luton disrupting our trains on the Sheffield/Nottingham/London and Corby/London routes.’
‘Emergency services are en-route to manage the incident. They are expected to arrive at 10:15.’
