The A1 in Lincolnshire is closed in both directions between the A607 (Harlaxton) and A606 (Stamford) due to a collision involving at least 2 lorries.
One lorry has overturned and has come to rest on its side across both sides of the carriageway. The other lorry has left the road and is down the verge at the side of the carriageway.




Recovery of the vehicles and extensive clean up works is ongoing.

Diversion Routes
Road users heading southbound are advised to follow the hollow diamond diversion symbol:
- Leave the A1 southbound at the A607 junction at Harlaxton and turn right onto the A607 heading west.
- Follow the A607 west through Harlaxton, Croxton Kerrial and Waltham on the Wolds to Melton Mowbray.
- At the A607/A606 junction turn left onto the A606 heading east.
- Follow the A606 through Langham, Oakham, Whitwell and Empingham back to the A1 at Stamford.
- At the A606/A1 junction take the southbound entry slip road to rejoin the A1 southbound to continue your journey.
Road users heading northbound are advised to follow the solid circle diversion symbol:
- Exit the A1 at A606 Stamford Northbound exit slip road.
- At the top of the slip road, turn left (west) onto the A606.
- Follow the A606 through Empingham and Oakham to Melton Mowbray and the junction with the A607. Turn right onto the A607 heading east.
- Continue on the A607 through Waltham on the Wolds, Croxton Kerrial to Harlaxton. At the A607/A1 roundabout take the 2nd exit to rejoin the A1 northbound to continue your journey.
There are currently 30 min delays southbound on approach to the closure with approx. 2.5 miles congestion. Delays are less than 10 mins northbound with less than a mile of congestion.
