National Highways is resurfacing the A1 between its junction with the A57/A614 at Apleyhead and the A17/A46 at Newark to give you a safer, smoother journey.
Work was initially carried out under lane or slip road closures but from 6 January there is a need full carriageway closures.
National Highways said:
‘To minimise disruption these will take place overnight from 8pm to 6am on Mondays to Fridays, in one direction at a time in the following phases:
Phase 1
- 6 January to 10 February – A1 southbound closure from Apleyhead to Newark.
Phase 2
- 11 February to 12 March – A1 southbound closure form Markham Moor to Newark.
Phase 3
- 13 March to 28 March – A1 northbound closure from Newark to Markham Moor.
Phase 4 –
- 6 May to 11 July – A1 northbound closure from Newark to Apleyhead.
