Emergency services were called to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the A1 in Nottinghamshire.
Officers were called to the northbound carriageway between the B6326 (Balderton) and A46 (Newark) at around 3.40am this morning following a crash involving a car.
The road was closed as officers responded to the incident, but it has since reopened as of 9.20am. It may take some time for traffic to clear.
A man, aged in his 30s, and a woman, aged in her 60s, have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
