The A1(M) is closed between J35 and the A1 junction with the A57 near Upper Morton.
This is due to to a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian and ongoing pre-planned roadworks.
Nottinghamshire Police and ambulance are at the scene.
Road users are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and may wish to consider alternative routes.
Road users travelling on the A1(M) southbound are advised to use the M18, M1 and then the A57 eastbound to re-join the A1 southbound at Upper Morton.

AA Roadwatch reports:
‘Road closed due to accident investigation work on A1(M) Southbound from J35 M18 to J34 A614 (Blyth / Bawtry).
‘The Southbound side remains closed following a serious accident involving a lorry, which happened just before 23:30 last night.’
